Dear Sir:
I am a 43 years old, male, working as an electronic engineer, excessively depend on my eyes; I have been using glasses since 1971(now –5.5d left, -4.5d right). One year ago, I noticed some decay in vision in my right eye only; I can’t decide whether it happened suddenly or gradually, the following describes the decay mentioned above.
When blinking right eye, I see instantaneous (for 0.5sec) a dark shadow of a circle with a hollow inside it (similar in shape to a wheel) the circle is in center of vision field.
The hollow is not always in the center of the circle, also dim (about 50% of left eye), objects seems slightly tone to red and out of focus(distorted), all inside this circle, but out side all mentioned symptoms disappear.
I have these symptoms more clear when looking at a dark surface containing freckles (with low lighting).
When this circle become larger (because of low sleeping hours) my vision gets worse, also sleeping for continuous eight hours, working / walking for 2-3 hours in sunlight slightly improves vision condition(temporary).
I visited a doctor, he checked the retina, eye pressure, also performed visual field test, florescent photo for retina, his conclusion was that I have a hole in retina, indeed he wasn’t very sure about it.
After two months I visited another doctor, he made his checks and also I show him the retina photos, his decision was that no hole in retina, but it is symptoms of aging and weakness in general health, he advised a multivitamin cure.
I finished the medicine 60 tablets, no remarkable advance noticed. Before 3 months the situation started to improve, the circle was collapsing, the hollow inside was getting bigger, my vision was improving, until it reached a bout 90% as good as the left eye at last the circle approximately disappeared, this continued for about 10 days and then “tow dark holes” appeared inside the original area of the circle and began growing till they reached each other, and then mixed together shaping a non uniform circle and then step by step they took the view of the original circle again, now I am in the same condition as before one year.
It worth to know that I never complained of my eyes before.
Any advice form you will be greatly appreciated.
