I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with SD in 1998. I have seen countless specialists and had numerous tests performed on me. Out of frustration, I have ignored the problem most of the time. I have just made an appointment to see a low vision specialist about possible devices and other helpful tools. I am so nervous about this appointment and was hoping that if any of you have done this already, maybe you could help to ease my mind and prepare me a little. I have three children and fear the day I have to stop driving. Not being able to read to my children has been very upsetting to me lately, that is what prompted me to make the appointment. It has been encouraging to read some of your messages. Thanks to everyone for sharing.
